“Gaza” Conflict, Oil Price Above US$ 48/ barrel
Refer to “Gaza” conflict after Israel forces seized control of high-rise buildings and attacked smuggling tunnels in the tenth day of fighting with Hamas in Gaza on Monday, oil price was increase above US$ 48 per a barrel to day (06/01/09).
For the information that untill this time, the Israel’s offensive has killed at least 500 people, and about 25 percent of wom were civilians.
Oil is very sensitive to political issues, and the price could overshoot until know if this conflict could affect supplies.
Iran’s OPEC governor, Mohammad Ali Khatibi was said on Monday, that OPEC members decided to hold an extraordinary meeting in Kuwait in February to discuss oil prices.
