Perbankan Syariah: Sebuah Pengantar

Adalah sebuah persepsi yang salah jika sebagian dari kita (mungkin) berpendapat bahwa sistem perbankan ataupun perekonomian yang berazaskan Islam (syariah) hanya identik dan diperuntukan khusus bagi penduduk muslim.

Fakta yang ada saat ini menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan dunia perbankan dan ekonomi yang berlandaskan sistem syariah juga berhasil diimplementasikan dengan baik pada negara-negara yang justru memiliki kaum muslim minoritas, seperti di Inggris dengan Europian Islamic Investment Bank (EIIB), di United State of America (USA) dengan University Islamic Bank Corporation (UBIC), di Thailand dengan Islamic Bank of Thailand (IBT) dan di Singapura dengan Islamic Bank of Asia (IBA).

Di Indonesia sendiri, perkembangan perbankan berbasiskan syariah dimulai oleh Bank Muamalat pada tahun 1992. Meskipun tidak secara ekplisit dinyatakan dalam Undang-Undang (UU) No. 7 Tahun 1992 tentang Perbankan, namun melalui Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) No. 72 Tahun 1992 tentang Bank Berdasarkan Prinsip Bagi Hasil, akhirnya terbentuk juga sebuah Bank Syariah pertama tersebut.

Keputusan Bank Indonesia (BI) untuk menurunkan tingkat suku bunga (BI-rate) sebesar 25 basis poin pada hari ini (04/12/08) berdampak positif terhadap perdagangan saham di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI).

Penurunan tingkat suku bunga BI menjadi 9,25%, diikuti oleh aksi beli terhadap saham sektor perbankan sehingga Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan (IHSG) di BEI akhirnya ditutup menguat sebesar 12,80 poin atau rebound sebesar 1,07% hingga berada pada level 1.205,32

The global crisis also will affect the banking industry, especially for fluctuation of  our  currency and interest rates.

The serious influences also will be impact on bank’s capability to provide some credits facilities, collect funds and pay debts.

Construction sector was begun difficulty to realize their construction projects at now. As we know that there are so many construction projects has been develop in here, but the financial crisis has making out the banks stop their credit facility for construction projects.

It’s mean that so many construction projects also will be stopping in the next year (2009). The banks should not be stop their credit facility to the construction projects, caused it also will bringing the negative influence for our economic condition for entirely.

SETELAH sempat mengalami suspensi selama dua sesi perdagangan bursa lusa kemarin (17/11/08), akhirnya pada hari kemarin (18/11/08) PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) mencabut status tersebut dari PT Bank Century Tbk.

Selain itu, saham yang juga dicabut dari status suspensi oleh BEI adalah PT Sinarmas Multiartha Tbk., yang tidak lain merupakan perusahaan yang rencananya akan melakukan akuisisi terhadap Bank Century hingga kepemilikan sahamnya menjadi sebesar 70%.

RENCANA right issue PT Bank Bukopin Tbk yang sedianya akan dilakukan pada tahun ini kemungkinan besar ditunda. Kondisi krisis keuangan global nampaknya menjadi faktor kendala tertundanya rencana perseroan tersebut.

Sekitar 20-30% saham Bank Bukopin rencananya akan dilepas melalui penerbitan saham baru (right issue) dengan dana masuk yang ditargetkan akan mencapai sekitar Rp. 800 miliar – Rp.1 trilliun.

Director of Banking Research at the Central Bank, Halim Alimsyah (08/11/08) said that by fundamentally our banking sector in the financial crisis currently is still shown a good performance and positive influences for our economic condition.

The growth of third party fund at our banking sector currently has shown the new equilibrilium with fund increasing more high than credit funding. But, by Year on Year (YoY) credit performance are still growth more high.

Merger process between Malaysia’s Commerce International Merchan Bankers (CIMB) Sdn Bhd Niaga Bank and Lippo Bank has complete. CIMB group now hold a controlling share ownership of 77.75 percent of CIMB Niaga Bank. 

After merger, assets of CIMB Niaga Bank is around Rp. 100 trillion (US$ 1 billion) with 650 branch offices in Indonesia and 11,000 employess from 120 Indonesia cities will be working at CIMB Niaga Bank. Now, CIMB Niaga Bank is the nation’s sixth largest bank by assets.

President Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Bank Lippo Tbk, Henk Mulder said that the company’s credit growht by consolidation was reached 42 percent Year on Year (YoY) become to Rp. 24,551 trilliun.

The credit growth has contributing by Lippo group are consist of 39 percent for commercial credit, 33 percent corporation credit and 28 percent consumer credit (including financing was contributed to PT Kencana Internusa Artha).
